I hope this newsletter issue finds you in good health and happiness. The
holidays and New Year are ever creeping upon us steadily. Thanksgiving
will arrive in 19 days. I have much to thank for. I thank you, my loyal
subscribers, for your support and encouragement. Every time I get a new
member, I am motivated to write the next issue. I count my blessings
daily, and never forget how lucky I am to have a wonderful mother, great
friends, a roof above my head, etc..
What are your plans for this festive time? What are your goals for the
future? The next day? The next week? It is good to have your goals set
in your mind and act upon them. Some people encounter two problems:
either they don't have any goals set, or they have their goals but do
not act upon them. Goals don't have to be huge—they can be spending
more time with your friends and family, catching up on your work,
returning a phone call...
Well, my next goal is to get hardcover editions out for all of my books.
I'll elaborate on that in a little bit. First, I have some updates...
I had a radio interview on November 2. I was again a guest on Cynthia
Brian's show, Starstyle—Be the Star You Are! on World Talk Radio. Don't
worry if you missed the live show because it's archived and available
for listening anytime at:
http://www.worldtalkradio.com/archive.asp?aid=5334
It's where it says "Shirley Cheng-The Revelation of a Star's Endless
Shine." This is the show description:
"The most positive person you will ever encounter, child prodigy,
Shirley Cheng returns to talk about her quest to triumph over
adversities with her inspirational autobiography, The Revelation of a
Star's Endless Shine. She is a poet and a woman of motivation offering
humor, hope, and healing to all those she meets.
Shirley has big dreams, big goals, and THE BIGGEST HEART! We all need to
listen intently to this lady of light."
As you can tell by listening to the interview, I had a blast!
I have more radio interviews coming up in the near future. (Yes, I'm
getting quite used to them.)
Stu Taylor (www.stutaylor.com) has invited me to be a guest on his show,
Stu Taylor on Business, which is heard in the six New England states
(Maine, Vermont, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New
Hampshire), reaching 40,000 people (at least, I think that's what he
told me). So, if you are in any of those states, you can turn your radio
station dial to Business 1060 WBIX-AM on Thanksgiving Day at 8:00 a.m.
EST. The time and date is subject to change. It can't be heard on the
Internet (I don't think), and it won't be archived (again, I don't think
it would be), so tune in to the live show that day. If there are any
changes, I'll let you all know as soon as possible. Prominent and
well-known business people have been his guests. Needless to say, I am
very excited.
Also, on Monday, December 12, I will appear live on Nicole M.
Stevenson's radio show on www.artistfirst.com at 7:00 p.m. EST for half
an hour, but I'm not sure which half hour it will be, so I'll send you
an e-mail when I find out.
Undoubtedly, I will have more radio appearances lined up later on. Next
stop: televisions. :) I've had print interviews published on the web, so
visit my site to read them: http://www.shirleycheng.com
Okay, back to my publishing business. I have republished Daring Quests
of Mystics, which is my first book, and it has a whole new look: new
cover, new interior design, and some new passages. I will also have a
dust-jacket hardcover out soon. I will also have the hardcover editions
out for my other two books, The Revelation of a Star's Endless Shine and
Dance with Your Heart. You can take a peak at the new cover at
http://www.shirleycheng.com
Nice, huh? I am finally satisfied with the new cover. (True, I can't see
it, but I know the artist has followed my design instructions all the
way, and my mother said it is really good).
I will inform you when all the hardcovers are ready. Hopefully, I can
get them out by the holiday season—they'll make great collectibles for
book lovers.
But if they don't turn out good (I'm crossing my fingers that they
will), I might dump the project altogether and say I give up. Ha—I
fooled you. Did you really think I'd say that so easily? Never!
I know this is getting long, but I just have more news to share: I have
contributed to three anthologies, including The Best of Us by Bill
Bailey. You can learn more at www.drycreekpress.com. You can contribute
as well by contacting him.
I have also entered an essay contest. I wrote about my dear mother. www.bethestaryouare.org is where you can learn more about it.
Whew! This has been a long update, but I hope it has been an interesting
one. Feel free to check out the anthology/essay contest and contribute
your own stories! Speak out—let your voice be heard, and go inspire the
many people who need to be inspired.
Well, if you don't hear from me before Thanksgiving, make it a great
one!! :D
